Woman seriously injured in hit and run

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – A young woman has been seriously injured in a hit and run in Newfoundland.

Police say the 24-year-old woman was hit while crossing in a crosswalk on Kenmount Road in St. John’s around 5 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say she was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the car involved in the collision.

They say the car, which may be grey, fled the scene east on Kenmount Road before turning onto Columbus Drive.
