FREDERICTON – The union representing 51 administrative staff at St. Thomas University in Fredericton has rejected a contract offer from the university and given the negotiating team a strike mandate.
The members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada have been trying to get a first contract since July 2010.
No strike date has been set, and both the union and university must provide 24 hours’ notice of any strike or lockout.
The group includes office administration, facilities management, recruitment, academic advising and financial services.
