Photos show the moment an Egyptian officer was killed when a bomb detonated while he was tring to defuse it

A homemade bomb exploded in Cairo on Tuesday, killing the police officer who was trying to dismantle it.

The explosion happened near a police station outside Cairo, security sources told Reuters. The attack came just after a masked gunman killed two police officers on Tuesday.

Stills taken from video show appear to show the officer approaching the bomb with passersby filming on their phones. It detonates, throwing his body backward.
