Follow Mr. Claus around the world with the 2014 NORAD Santa Tracker

It’s the night before Christmas and Santa is hard at work right now delivering toys to boys and girls all over the world, and just like every year, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is meticulously tracking the jolly white bearded man’s movement.

NORAD has been live tweeting Santa’s journey over the course of today and his trip can also be tracked through a live website, complete with a little Santa’s sled icon slowly gliding around the world.

A sleigh full of gifts just zipped through Italy and Croatia! #NORAD

As of 4:30 EST, Santa has already mad stops in Australia, India and Russia, as well as a handful of other countries.

NORAD’s Santa Tracker has been around since 1955, after an advertisement accidentally printed the telephone number for kids to call Santa.

Instead of reaching Mr. Claus, the children instead were calling the Continental Air Defense Command commander-in-chief, who then began began updating the children on Santa’s geographic location.

in 2013 NORAD’s website attracted 19.5 million unique visitors, 1.45 million Facebook “likes,” and the initiative’s Twitter feed amassed 146,000 followers.

Check out Santa’s journey at this link.
